While it’s normal for some pets to feel a little nervous at the vet office, we go out of our way to help your pet feel as comfortable as possible during their visit.
Before your appointment
- Get your cat used to the carrier by leaving it out in the house a few days before your visit. Try feeding treats or meals in the carrier os using calming spray.
- Get your dog used to car rides ahead of time by taking short joy-rides. Stop by for “Happy visits” to spend time with our staff and familiarize your pet with our facility. Consider using calming therapies like the ThunderShirt or high-value treats/toys during visits.
Additional considerations
- Some pets may benefit from prescription medications and sedation. If you think your pet’s comfort could be improved, please let our team know!
We request a 24-hour notice to give the doctor time to review your pet’s medical record, make sure no changes are needed to the prescription, and approve the refill. In addition, it also gives our staff time to fill the prescription. We will do everything we can to fill the prescription much sooner, but this policy is in place due to some days where emergencies, surgeries, or other pressing patient care matters prevent us from immediately refilling prescriptions. A staff member will contact you by phone or text to let you know your pets refill is ready for pick-up. If you do not pick up your prescription within 7 days, it will be returned to stock and you will need to request the medication again.
We collect a non-refundable $100 deposit at the time of scheduling.
Our goal is to provide timely care to all our patients and to respect not only the veterinarian’s time, but the constraints of a tightly booked schedule. If you must cancel your appointment, we request a call or email at least 24 hours before your pet’s appointment. This allows us to accommodate other patients who may need prompt medical care.
If you are needing to cancel your pet’s anesthetic/surgical procedure, it is required to cancel/reschedule your appointment with 72 hours notice of your appointment time.
For the safety of your pet, certain medications require blood testing and checkups at specific intervals in order for your pet to continue on the medication. Our care team can discuss can your pets individual needs with you.
